DJ Stan

Stan’s childhood was surrounded by an African Dutch society, which had a major influence on his taste for music, for the love of Hip Hop. After growing up in Sydney (Australia) and Netherlands for 16 years, he finally came to Jakarta (Indonesia) and has settled in Jakarta ever since.

His passion for music initiated from the time when he first heard the sounds of R&B, Soul and Rap; the essential beat roots of Hip Hop. Then his flavour for music stretched into the collaborating world of Urban and Dance music.

Stan is no stranger to the Indonesia hip-hop scene, Stan has played a major role in developing a scene that’s now thriving from the capital cities and more obvious destinations to the local underground smaller cities. Knowing what it takes to rock dance floors from club to club with different musical educational levels and experience isn’t something that’s learn over night, it takes years of mastering your craft – exactly why you see Stan’s name on lineups everywhere on almost a nightly basis. Residencies at Bali and Jakarta’s highest profile night time destinations, appearing on the biggest festival lineups Indonesia has to offer and taking our awards are a part of his daily life now but its the hard work and consistency that’s got him to the top of his game and there is no signs of taking a backseat in the near future. Furthermore he continues to develop more concepts and working with more local artists behind the scenes, he’s got the right attitude and vision to make a difference in his homeland while traveling consistently internationally to make a change and that’s exactly what’s going down when Stan comes to town.

Stan’s initiative in being a DJ was to show his appreciation for music and most importantly, to share the music with others that possess the same devotion. Stan treats music like a soul. He gives his full senses to the music every single time it blows through the speakers.
